Kia Davis (she, her, hers) is a psychotherapist, consultant, and clinical supervisor for adults impacted by trauma and major life changes. She is a licensed clinical social worker in NC and DC.


Kia practices through a queer-affirming, trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens, and she uses in psychodynamic and existential therapy approaches. Her work is rooted in mindfulness, anti-racism, feminism and post-traumatic growth theory. She has extensive experience working with clients who are Black, LGBTQIA+, and/or survivors of crime.

Kia has over ten years practice as a medical social worker, community health advocate, and nonprofit professional. At the University of North Carolina and Greensboro (UNCG) she majored in Social Work and Women’s & Gender Studies, then earned a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management. She completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a concentration in healthcare settings at Howard University. Her previous work includes: the Community Violence Intervention Program (CVIP) at MedStar Washington Hospital Center; the Department of Defense Helpline and the Rape and Incest National Network (RAINN); the DC Center for the LGBT Community; and the Hope Project, a City of Greensboro, NC youth gang intervention initiative. She currently serves as a support group facilitator and grief therapist for the NC Victim Assistance Network support.

She has spent time cultivating her passion for health and wellness by completing the Health Ministry Certificate Program at Wesley Theological Seminary and certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP) courses. She is trained in the Trauma Conscious Yoga Method℠ and will complete Subtle® Yoga teacher training in 2023.
